I love to see the temple

Matthew and I went to the temple on Friday. It was magical. Since I am endowed going to the temple means something entirely different to me now than it used to. I used to just go to the temple to do baptisms, which are absolutely wonderful and a necessary part of everyone's eternal progression, but there is something unique and unexplainable about going through endowment sessions. This is the first time that Matt and I have been able to attend the temple since we were sealed so we were both really excited about it seeing how the first time I went through I was a total wreck and was so worried about messing something up it was nice to be able to go and at least kind of have an idea of what's going on. Also it was nice to not have a lot of different people trying to explain to me what I needed to be doing. Anyways, while I was sitting through the session I re-realized some things that I guess I already knew, but they were just revealed to me again because I guess the Lord wanted me to remember these few things. So without going into too much detail here are the things that I thought about:
(this photo was taken from Sudweeks Photography)

1. Adam fell that men might be. There's a little scripture in the Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi chapter 2 verse 25. It then goes on to explain that men are supposed to have joy. It specifically says "Adam fell that men might be and men are that they might have joy." Isn't that wonderful. It's such a simple scripture, but really it explains so much. Adam didn't fall so that all mankind would be cursed or punished. Adam didn't fall because he was tempted to do some evil thing. He chose to partake of the fruit because he knew that it would allow man to be. We could not exist without the fall. And the second part of it is that we are supposed to have joy. I just know so many people who dwell on all the bad things in life. And people try to blame God for allowing bad things to happen to us, but the Lord wants us to be happy. He let us come to this earth so that we would be able to experience true joy. Thank you, my Heavenly Father. You are wonderful and I will never be able to express enough gratitude to thee.

2. So you know how the world was created in 6 days and on the 7th day the Lord rested. Well I know that a lot of people think this and when I was a little kid I always thought that the world was really created in 6 days according to our time. There has even been scientific evidence that the world was formed over millions of years through very slow processes. While I was sitting in the temple I realized the Lord doesn't work according to our time. A day in his time is centuries or more in the way that we measure time. God is endless so time really means nothing to Him. I think that just through our culture we have grown to think that just because we use the word "day" to signify the different periods of time that different things on the earth were created that they were actually created in only 6 days when in reality it took way longer than that. I don't know if this made sense...it kind of blows your mind to think about it when you try to relate the Lord's time to our time because you just can't do it.

3. Matt and I have the opportunity to be together forever. Through the priesthood ordinances of our church we were sealed to each other with the proper authority and if we are faithful to the commandments and we endure to the end we can return to our Father in heaven, united. And when we have children, if we teach them well we can be with them forever too. It goes on and on with the linking people together because once our children get married then they will be sealed to their spouse and we will be tied to their spouse's family as well and then they will have kids and this too is mind boggling. Basically it just boils down to the fact that I am going to strive to be the best that I can be so that I will be able to be with my wonderful husband and my future posterity for eternity. Just the fact that that is a possibility is so beautiful to me. I am thankful for this church.

So yeah those are some of the main topics that were going through my head while I was in the temple. It's a wonderful place. My wish is that everyone will be able to attend so that they can receive the blessings that the Lord is just waiting to give to them if they will just come to Him.

The End.

Now for the not so spiritual stuff that we have done! WOO! On Friday we also went to Shakespeare in the Park! It was free and they are currently performing Romeo and Juliet. You should check it out because it was pretty entertaining, and coming from someone who usually abhors Shakespearean performances it must have been pretty fun. It wasn't anything flashy and it wasn't even that professional as fas as the costumes and set(which was just two opera blocks) go, it was just entertaining and the actors had fun with it. And Matt and I had fun with it as well.

Obviously we enjoy being with each other :]

On Saturday, AKA YESTERDAAAY, Matt and I went to the airport in Salt Lake and we picked up my best friend who has been in Mexico for two months, Natalie Raines. It was SO good to see her and hear about all of the adventures she had and all the things that she had learned from her experiences. I love her. It was just like old times talking with her. She couldn't use her phone at all in Mexico so I wasn't able to text her or call her or anything so we didn't really talk as much, but it didn't feel like we hadn't talked for two months once we were reunited. I just love her!

Clearly we are best friends.

After we picked her up from the airport, drove back to Provo, and dropped her off at Linda's apartment (i love her too) Matt went to work and I went home to eat lunch and then I went to work as well. This coming week will be nothing but work for this happily married couple. It is education week in the HFAC which means that we have to work and be present during all of the classes and performances that take place in the theatres. Luckily, I will be working the performance of Annie Get Your Gun everynight..not so lucky that tomorrow I have to be at work at 6:30 AM so that I can unlock the theatre so they can load everything in. Oh well! Money! WOOO! We are going to be millionaires. I love being married.
